Instructions

Creating Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Pasta is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to achieve culinary success:

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  1. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add a generous pinch of salt to the water.
  2. Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. This usually takes about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water, and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Shrimp

  1. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and are opaque.
  4. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sautรฉ for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently to avoid burning.
  4. Gradually whisk in the parmesan cheese until it is fully melted and the sauce becomes creamy.
  5. Add the Italian seasoning, lemon juice, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
  6. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.

Step 4: Combine and Serve

  1. Return the shrimp to the skillet, followed by the cooked pasta.
  2. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce, and the shrimp are evenly distributed.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
  4. Garnish with chopped parsley and additional parmesan cheese before serving.
